Corner cabinet sizes
From KraftMaid, American Woodmark and Merillat 2025 spec books. Checked November 1, 2026.
Short answer
A lazy susan or pie-cut corner base needs 36 in of wall each way (33 in for the smaller pie-cut). A blind corner base runs along one wall and takes about 37 to 53 in of it, depending on its size and how far you pull it from the corner.
The corner options
| Cabinet | Wall it takes | From the spec books |
|---|---|---|
| Lazy susan corner base | 36 × 36 in | KraftMaid LS36: “Requires 36" of wall space.” Merillat BAR36: “Requires 36" of wall space in each direction.” |
| Easy Reach (pie-cut) corner base | 33 × 33 or 36 × 36 in | KraftMaid EZR33 and EZR36; American Woodmark BER33 and BER36. Shelves 28 in (33) or 32 in (36) across. |
| Blind corner base | about 37 to 53 in along one wall | Depends on the size and how far it’s pulled from the corner. See the table below. |
| IKEA SEKTION corner base | 50 in along one wall | IKEA lists a 50 × 24 × 30 in corner base, used like a blind corner, with a 24 in door. |
Base cabinets in every one of these books are 34½ in tall and 24 in deep; wall cabinets are 12 in deep.
Blind corner base sizes (KraftMaid)
A blind corner cabinet is a regular box with a dead end tucked into the corner. You slide it along the wall, “pull” it, so the doors and drawers on the next wall clear. KraftMaid: “All Base Blind Corner cabinets need to be pulled,” and each comes with a 3 in filler.
| Model | Box width | Door opening | Wall space, min to max |
|---|---|---|---|
| BBC39 | 36 in | 9 in | 37 1/2 to 40 3/4 in |
| BBC42 | 39 in | 12 in | 40 1/2 to 43 3/4 in |
| BBC45 | 42 in | 15 in | 43 1/2 to 46 3/4 in |
| BBC48 | 45 in | 18 in | 46 1/2 to 49 3/4 in |
| BBC51 | 48 in | 21 in | 49 1/2 to 52 3/4 in |
½ in overlay doors. Full overlay adds ¾ in to the minimum and 1 in to the maximum. The minimums allow for knobs and pulls; KraftMaid says you may take off 1¼ in if you use none. The blind panel (stile) is 8 in wide.
Every brand pulls differently
There's no shared rule for how far a blind corner can be pulled:
- KraftMaid: wall space from 1½ in less than the model number to 1¾ in more (BBC42: 40½ to 43¾ in), ½ in overlay.
- American Woodmark: 2¼ to 4 in more than the first number, full overlay (BLB39/42: 41¼ to 43 in). The filler is ordered separately.
- Merillat: from the model number up to 2⅞ in more, and a blind panel with a 3 in filler comes with it.
Check the spec book for the line you're buying before you lay out the wall.
Getting it in the door
Corner bases are big boxes. KraftMaid recommends 29 in of door clearance for an Easy Reach and 30½ in for its angled lazy susan; American Woodmark recommends a 32 in doorway for its Easy Reach. Measure the narrowest door on the way to the kitchen.
Laying out the rest
Once the corner is set, the cabinet run calculator checks that the rest of the boxes fill the wall, and the hardware calculator shows where the knobs and pulls go.
