Wall oven sizes
Sizes from GE's spec pages. Cutouts change between brands, so build the cabinet to the sheet for your oven.
Short answer
Wall ovens come 24, 27 and 30 in wide. A 30 in single is 29¾ in W x 28⅝ in H x 26¾ in D and goes in a 28⅝ in wide, 27⅜ in tall cutout. A 30 in double is 53 in tall.
Wall oven dimensions and cutouts
| Oven | Outside | Cutout | Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| GE JRS06SKSS (24 in single) | 23¾ in W x 28¼ in H x 23⅛ in D | 22½ in W x 27½ in H x 23½ in D | 2.7 cu ft |
| GE JKS3000SNSS (27 in single) | 26¾ in W x 28¾ in H x 26⅝ in D | 25¼ in W x 27⅝ in H x 23½ in D | 4.3 cu ft |
| GE JTS3000SNSS (30 in single) | 29¾ in W x 28⅝ in H x 26¾ in D | 28⅝ in W x 27⅜ in H x 23½ in D | 5 cu ft |
| GE JTD3000SNSS (30 in double) | 29¾ in W x 53 in H x 26½ in D | 28½ in W x 51⅞ in H x 23½ in D | 10 cu ft |
The outside is bigger than the cutout because the trim laps over the cabinet face.
Reading the cutout
The cutout is the hole in the cabinet. Every GE oven above wants it 23½ in deep. The rest of the oven's depth, trim and handle, sits in front of the cabinet. Don't size the hole to the outside measurement, or the trim won't cover the edges.
The 27 in GE needs a 25¼ in wide hole and the 30 in needs 28⅝ in, so you can't trade one for the other without recutting the cabinet. If you're swapping ovens, measure the hole you have before you shop.
